About us: Leeana is an early stage biodiversity startup based in Berlin. By combining businesses locations with nature data, we enable companies to measure and manage their biodiversity impact, as well as enabling them to report on upcoming biodiversity frameworks. To further develop the Leeana platform we are looking to expand our team.
The role: As the Head of Biodiversity at Leeana, you will spearhead the development and implementation of cutting-edge methodologies and tools for assessing biodiversity impacts and risks. You will collaborate closely with our engineering team to seamlessly integrate geospatial data into our platform, ensuring accurate assessments. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to lead a team of experts, stay at the forefront of biodiversity science, and contribute to positive environmental change while being part of a collaborative and innovative startup culture at Leeana.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of our biodiversity assessment methodologies and tools.
- Collaborate with our engineering and data science team to integrate geospatial data into our platform for accurate biodiversity impact assessments.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in biodiversity science, sustainability, and environmental research.
- Ensure the compliance of the platform with nature-related corporate frameworks and reporting standards, such as SBTN, TNFD, GRI 304, and ESRS E4.
- Grow a team of biodiversity experts at Leeana
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of biodiversity insights into the Leeana platform
Your Skills:
- Graduate degree or equivalent experience in a discipline of the Natural Sciences, sustainability, or related subjects (Climate, biodiversity, circular economy, sustainable finance).
- Relevant scientific work experience in fields related to biodiversity, sustainability, ESG, and environmental research.
- Strong understanding of biodiversity footprinting science, metrics, and tools, such as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methods. Experience in working with geospatial data sets is a plus.
- Familiarity with nature-related corporate frameworks and reporting standards is a plus (SBTN, TNFD, GRI 304, ESRS E4).
